September 1st marks an exciting change for PLR; the return of an Arlington LAN location. That’s right folks the Labor Day LAN will be held in Arlington at (http://www.eznet-cafe.com/) EZnet Café. This location is in a great area right off Park Row & S Cooper. It’s next to Arlington High School, the UTA campus, and right up the road from where The Source Gaming Center used to be. There are a handful of different types of places to eat within walking distance and even a donut shop for breakfast
This change brings the return of system rentals for those of you who don’t like to lug your system around or don’t have a system of your own.Some other changes with this location:
Pizza orders will be done at sign-in.
The return of the flat fee. No more having to worry about those extra $2.
On site snacks and drinks.
Let’s have a great turn out and show these guys what Peace, Love and Rockets is all about.

I've offered to do a website for him, and even offered him the template from the source's site, but he says he does a lot of website work, and that what is up there now was just a quick upload to get some contact info out there. he says he's been real busy working on the store, and if you go in to check it out you'll see that he wasnt lieing A few of us are goingto get pics this week.
As for the systems: i talked to him about that and he said they are actually the amd equivalent of a 3 gig p4, but he isnt the system builder, he's the network guy, so he wasnt 100% sure of what exactly they were. He also said that the 512 was for the initial buildout, and they will all be up to a gig, most likely before our lan.
These guys do a lot of internet cafe work, and their main money is a lot less from "gaming" than the source's was, so IMO they are making smart decisions and seem like they will be able to stick around longer than we did. I also explained to him the importance of giving the exact specs and having a nice site b/c of fuckers like you picking everything apart :p, but to be honest, his real money wont know the diff between intel or amd, as long as the game works when they launch it. the people that tear him up about these sorts of things wont be the ones in there making him money, even if it was all perfect.
that being said, i encourage everyone to stop by, check it out, buy a few hours, and come back with some feedback on the center, and more importantly, the staff that works in there.

After a successful conversation with our hosts for PLR 4, we are now able to expand our BYOC registration to 39 total seats. This reduces the number of available rental spots to 12, but still provides for a total LAN capacity of 51 people, our highest capacity since the close of The Source!
In addition to the increased BYOC capacity, we are also able to bring back another great service, monitor rentals! Same drill as before, for an extra $5, you will be able to rent a monitor to go with your BYOC registration for an additional $5. Monitors are high quality 19" widescreen LCD's with a 5ms response time. Since this option is being added after registration, you will need to reply to this thread in the forums, or call 817.657.7603 to reserve your monitor, as there are only 7 available.
If you know anyone who has not yet registered, kick their butts into gear and lets get these last 9 spots filled up!
